Heartbeats but no Pings
-
I have 2 agents running on two different Windows10 Pro PC's. I have one on a PC that is showing heartbeats and ping W/ speeds connected via network cable. The other agent is ONLY showing heartbeats and does NOT show any data on the pings. Both devices are using the same internet service. The difference is the one that is NOT showing pings is in a nearby building and is connected via a wireless bridge. These two use the same DNS settings but are using different DHCP servers. (One is running 192.168.16.X and the one across the bridge is running a 192.168.2.X pool). I AM able to see devices across the bridge when things are working. For example I can access the copier on the 192.168.2.x at the remote location via a web browser and IP from a computer with a 192.168.16.x address.
Is there something I need to change to allow the PINGS to be reported?
PS - I am using this to determine if our WiFi bridge is dropping or if we are having WiFi issues in the house. The remote device is connected via a cable connection to a switch which is connected to the WiFi bridge at the remote location to take the in house WiFi out of the equation.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
There isn't anything you have to change in terms of the site settings but typically, this means that ICMP is being blocked somewhere on that connection which isn't sending pings. In this case, the wireless bridge you mention.
The agent uses ICMP to gather hops and other information but if it cannot get that, then the installation is pretty much of no use until this is fixed.
I would say look at the bridge settings to make sure ICMP isn't being blocked as a starting point since the rest of the network is the same.

Hi, were you able to find the problem?
