      I have installed the agent, and it didn't automatically update the download page. I left it for a while, and rebooted the computer but it still didn't work (showing the "Missing Hops" message on the dashboard).

      So I tried to uninstall / reboot / reinstall but now it won't reinstall (error 80070643).

      This is the install log file:

      Is there any way to clear things out after the uninstall so that it can reinstall cleanly?

      Thanks!

        Hi,

        To be honest, I've never seen a condition where anything related to the agents install files had to be removed. I believe that all Window programs will leave a certain amount of garbage behind that maybe or maybe not ever gets cleaned up. I think that simply uninstalling any old agent then re-installing another should be all that is needed.

        When you say it didn't update the page, I assume you mean the install page remained? If that is the case, it sounds like the install never completed so the agent cannot and did not start.

        Can you check your Services and see if the Echo Networks agent is installed?

        Can you also share which windows version this is and if you were ever able to get to a point of seeing an agent, might you have that agent ID?

        I did find this related to the error code;

        How to Fix Windows Update Error 0x80070643

        We can eliminate malware or virus infection and a driver malfunction since there are no drivers being installed,

        Is it possible the installer never got the chance to complete and somehow corrupted or lost system files? The article says that in those cases, re-installing the package so that it completes should allow it to be properly uninstalled later.

        From our perspective, we need to get a clear picture of how far you got so that we can better determine what the next step is. Can you clarify a few things please.

        Can you check your Services and see if the Echo Networks agent is installed? You'll have to look on the net but on win7 it's Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services.

        Can you also share which windows version you are installing on.

        If it ever completed, can you share any agent ID you've had in the past.

        In terms of missing hops and pings, there is another person asking about missing pings and hops here,

        No hops, no pings in my dashboard

        There is also an article on what could cause this here;

        No hops, no pings in your dashboard

          The update to fix the Windows installer problem has been released. Simply create a new software agent which will give the download to the new version.
