Hardware agent install

I am having difficulty activating my new hardware agent. I don't receive email when activating the agent. One problem might be the switch next to the reset button shown in the attached. What is this switch? Which way should it be set? How do I know if the agent is communicating with your network? The indicator lights are as shown on the attached HardwareAgent_129676-2.jpg with the left-most light steady on.

Hi,
The switch is disabled and the solid light means it's connected to OutagesIO.
Using the reset switch could cause the agent to lose its configuration and would have to be sent back to us for re-flashing but it's fine right now.
I just checked and the hardware agent is communicating with OutagesIO and is active.
All you need to do is to log into your dashboard and you'll see the rest on app.outagesio.com.
Keep in mind of course that it will not show much information until it logs them so the dashboard might look a little bare at first.
Let me know if this solves the problem now.

Everything looks good now. Thanks. I guess I was expecting a quicker email response following my attempts to activate the new hardware agent.
Having a reset button on the agent that is not supposed to be used seems to me to be a potential problem. Of course, the first thing I tried when I was experiencing a problem was to hit the reset button. Apparently I didn't cause a problem this time.

Hi,
Not much we can do about the buttons, it comes with the hardware. Most little devices like these have them, it's just a matter of programming.
The activation email was sent on the day that the agent was prepared, It's probably in your junk box but the one we re-sent earlier today made it which is good.
All worked out after all, it's all that matters.
Hopefully, the service helps you to find problems you might be having.
Feel free to ask for help or clarification any time.
