Rebooting
-
Hi,
Someone just emailed you about this.
No, that is definitely not normal behaviour. We're monitoring these new devices to make sure that everything is working correctly. We noticed that your agent seems to be stuck in 'rebooting' mode.
Agents are automatically rebooted every 24hrs, 3am UTC time just as a precaution to ensure nothing gets messed up in memory or some software package suddenly stops something it should not.
We test quite a bit before shipping but sometimes, cannot know all situations until they are in use.
Could you please power cycle your device as we've made a small change in the updates it gets.
If we cannot solve all issues, we'll likely send out an SD Card update to members with instructions on how to run the update.
-
Thanks for doing that. If you see it stuck like that again, just power cycle and that will always pick up the latest agent and updates.
At some point, we'll be sending out an SD Card with an update. Once updated, they will self update as they should.
-
If you can keep doing that, we're working on a quick fix.
We'll be contacting members who purchased these new devices with an update. The operating system put on those is not as reliable as we wanted so the update will flash a new Os onto the device.
For those who know how to flash an SD Card, it'll be a simple task otherwise, we'll send an SD Card.
Our projection is one to two weeks as we need to test this as much as possible before releasing it.
-
We've made a small change so please let us know tomorrow how it goes, if the agent is still showing rebooting or not. It will pick up the change when it auto reboots.
-
We may have an update in a few days now.
I see that your agent has come back from rebooting at 3am UTC, unless you manually power cycled again. -
Ok, the new version is testing well already. Just need a little more testing time.
Do you know how to flash an sd card with an image?
For those that do, we can offer a download link and instructions on how to do it otherwise, we have to send an sd card.Either way, we still have to create an image that will boot and self update the agent properly so, a bit to do yet.
-
Ok then.
We're still testing to be safe but your agent is working fine other than the rebooting until it gets the update. We'll share the instructions and if you want to give it a try, you'll be able to follow those notes otherwise, we'll send you an sd card as soon as we have that tested.

Hi,
We'll be sending out a replacement agent with a return label to members who purchased this device in the next few days.
Just send back the one you have and the replacement will work perfectly.
The agent will have the monitoring functionality and over time, it will pick up updates that will add more functions. For now, it's mainly just a monitoring agent.
-
BTW, did you have to reboot it again today?

We've been working on a replacement non stop since you posted this. Testing is going well but still a few things to iron out before we can send replacements.

I'll ask the dev to look at this shortly.
From what I know, the agent is actually working, it's just the status that is not being changed. We're looking into it.
