How can I enable auto-reset of the 3 email notification limit?

How can I enable auto-reset of the 3 email notification limit? The problem I have is after 3 outage notifications, I don't get any more notifications until I log into reset. If I forget to do this, I don't yet notified anymore. This has happened many times and it's very frustrating. Any help appreciated.

Hi,
There is only a manual reset available but let me explain why.
We used to have no limit and our emails ended up getting blocked by many email sites preventing others from receiving their notifications.
The notifications are meant to let users know about problems so sending them repeatedly would only annoy and hound most members. Once you know there are problems, the dashboard and the historical data are there to help from that point on.
Hope this helps.

Hi thanks for the explanation. So, is the issue that your emails will get blocked if you send out too many email notifications? You mention the original design was not to have limits, and the 3-email limit was not applied for the end user's benefit per se, but rather, as a workaround with your email sending system.
My concern as an end-user is that occasionally there will be a brief outage, maybe once every month or so. I'm not checking the dashboard daily (or even weekly or monthly for that matter). If I forget to reset the notifications after that 3rd brief outage, it means the notification system will be blocked until I remember to log back in and reset.
Would you agree that a better solution for the end-user would perhaps be to simply limit the # of notifications that can be sent per day or per week, such that is stays far below the threshold where your email systems start blocking? Can you think of another solution whereby I don't have to manually reset the notifications, and if I forget, I lose this paid feature until I remember again?

We've tried a number of different things over the years and found this one to be the best. Most just want to be alerted to problems, they don't want to be inundated with non stop emails about problems they know they need to look into.
The service is a tool, like any other tool you use, it cannot do everything possible but automates a lot of it.
I'll pass this along in our next meeting but the notifications development has been a very complicated and time consuming one that I'm not sure anyone will want to change unless we had a lot of requests. You are the first person asking about this.

Did the reply help you to know why the settings are as they are? Just wondering if I should close this.
