Agent going into the status of 'Disconnected' when I have not turned off my PC

Thanks very much for testing and letting us know it's working.
We still have some things to tidy up in the code and try very hard to ensure it's not disruptive. And thank you for the kind words and most of all, for reporting this.
-
Looks like there is still a little problem. Your outages aren't showing up in your dashboard but they are in the DB so not lost. At least I don't see them.
I'll bring this up but looks like we're getting there.
It's a huge learning curve for the devs that are looking at this but they are getting there. -
@OutagesIO_Support The outage at 10:09:42 showed up just after the internet came back, but then disappeared at some point before the second test. After the second test at 10:15:55 the same thing happened to that one. As you noticed there is no indication on the Dashboard of those 2 outages. Under History, the last Outage shows 2023-04-06 08:28:41. Alerts under History also not showing the last 2 outages alerts. One final question, do Dashboard Alerts also stop after 3?
-
Thanks for the extra info.
Only emails are limited to prevent the service from being blocked if too many emails went out at once.
-
@OutagesIO_Support Again, thanks
-
@OutagesIO_Support The 2 outages done for the Outage test on the 9th come and go from "When my Internet was down" list. They were there early this morning, disappeared at some point in time and now are back. Strange.
-
That would be the devs working on the problem.
Some of the old records needed to be updated which caused some to come and go.There is still a historical problem to be solved.
-
Good news... our lead dev is back as of today and all of this will be fixed by tomorrow.
We apologize for any inconvenience. It's a huge and complicated application that very much requires a lead dev to keep things running properly.
This and any other issues will be resolved quickly.
We are also working on an agent update as well which should unify the version across all platforms as well as adding features that some platforms have and others don't.
-
We are happy to announce that the email problem has been solved once and for all.
If there are any little problems left, please let us know and we'll take care of them immediately.
Thank you for your patience and again, apologies for this taking longer than usual. It was also an unusual situation for us.
-
@OutagesIO_Support I can't believe how hard y'all worked to solve this problem. And we don't even pay for this handy and useful service. Great work by all who stuck with it. Thanks to all of you.
-
Thank you, we appreciate that.
It was quite stressful to learn that outage notifications had not been going out for some time.
Some historical details went missing because we had to fully re-write our alerts and email code to re-add outages. We just wanted to get those working again ASAP and now working on completing the rest.
That data will show up again as soon as we're done, it's only temporarily missing here and there.
In terms of subscriptions, we would love it if more people take us up on them. We've made them as low cost as possible and those help us to keep the free version going.
-
All good since the updates?
-
@OutagesIO_Support So far so good.
-
@OutagesIO_Support The "ping tpw.outages.io" is timing out since last night.
-
Hi,
What's happening is that we keep trying to move some of those servers but somehow, DNS is not updating across the Internet so some agents don't see the change.
Can you ping tpw.outages.io and tpw.outagesio.com from the same PC that your agent is not able to ping anymore and show the results please.
Can you also provide the ID/s of the agent/s not pinging?
-
I think we'll have to let it keep propagating and it will be fine shortly. We run our own DNS servers but for some things we use the GoDaddy DNS servers to propagate around the globe faster.
Maybe some of their DNS servers take a little longer than others and you just happen to be in that mix.
We'll shorten the TTL time and see if that helps.
This is the output of a free ping test tool online showing all could reach so it's likely propagation.
Thanks very much for pointing these things out.

Thanks for the update. Glad it's working now.
